Use when an app provides a reusable instruction text field, such as custom instructions or personalization. The instruction text may shape generated text in future chats inside that app.
project or workspace instructions
Use when an app provides project-level or workspace-level instruction text. The instruction text may shape generated text only inside that project or workspace surface.
API or app-wrapper instruction field
Use only in applications you control. The instruction remains input-side text supplied to that wrapper; it does not become a m0de proof surface.

Generated text from any external app returns to m0de as pasted_answer / user_supplied / null / pasted / not_model_attested unless m0de captured the source itself.
A slot may hold instruction text. It does not establish that later generated text used it.
full payload / compact slot boundary
The full canonical adapter instruction is /m0de-model-adapter-instruction.txt. Copy it completely when the destination slot can hold the full payload.
Do not paste a truncated full instruction. Silent truncation is not a valid full instruction state.
If a destination slot cannot hold the full payload, use /m0de-model-adapter-slot-1500.txt as a standalone compact instruction. Do not paste a truncated full instruction.
For browser-capable model or app readers, /m0de-model-adapter-copy-guide.txt states which raw file to copy and which page prose or partial text to avoid.
what is not a m0de surface
Do not treat personality, style, tone, warmth, emoji, fast-answer, or similar app controls as m0de surfaces. The adapter belongs only in places meant for reusable instruction text.
